Hello. I’m Marie Comeaux, an experienced Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I received my Masters of Social Work Degree from Springfield College and my Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Social Worker Certification from Smith College.
I have a history of working with a diverse clientele with differing challenges within varied settings including a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Shelter, Community Corrections, Elder Protective Services, Psychiatric Inpatient, both Acute and Long-Term Medical and Specialty Care hospitals, school, court/legal and home settings. I have a passion for working with people and learning their stories.
I am influenced by humanistic integrative and existential psychotherapy. This means we will work to develop you and your relationship(s) in a holistic way including your emotional, mindful, behavioral and physiological selves within your environment. This also means we will build on your willingness to seek support and your capacities to create a more authentic and purposeful self and life.
I believe the therapeutic experience to be a collaborative process. I offer a myriad of treatment methods including psycho-education, CBT, ACT, narrative therapy, positive psychology, mindfulness, solution focused and grief and bereavement support. Through a strength-based, person-centered approach, we will identify your why, develop and implement a unique treatment plan, lessen the adverse impact of your symptoms and create a path enhanced with tools to navigate life that makes sense to you and your experience.
I am truly honored to be a part of your journey.
